Speakeasy in Frankfurt am Main

Wow. I frequent speakeasies around the world. As a fan of an excellent cocktail, be it the craft or ingredients, and the ambiance that a speakeasy brings. I'm impressed by the Speakeasy located in Kabuki. Let's set expectations. There are no hidden doors or passwords here. The space is not closed off completely (but could be if a few minor changes were made). But, that's not a major problem by any shot. The experience you will receive is extraordinary and rivals many places I've been to. The cocktails and service are excellent. Let's start off with the japanese whisky collection. I've never seen this many Japanese whiskies in one place for tasting. How many? 118 varieties. And we're only talking about Japanese whiskies and scotches ranging from single malt and single barrel to blends and scotches. After that, you have a variety of other spirits, liquors, and wines available. Cocktails. A speakeasy isn't worth it if the cocktails aren't excellent. We had the Kyoto mule and the Klang Des Waldes. Both were great and I especially enjoyed the Klang from presentation to last sip. All of that said (and this doesn't lower my review). I have some suggestions for the venue and this continues to grow. 1. Sound proofing or partitioning off the kitchen and rest of the restaurant from the space 2. Highlight the whiskey collection with some type of backlighting. The quantity of whiskey and artistic labels are their own focal point. 3. Get the word out. This is awesome and absolutely worth getting more people in the door for.
